Our Carnival of Flowers exhibition is over for this year. We all had a wonderful time, talking to all our visitors, and showcasing our crafts.

A special thank you to all the members who helped make this such a wonderful event.

Keep a look out for our display next year.

Things are slowing down a bit at Club, with the end of the year coming up fast.

Club will continue every Thursday and Saturday, depending on availability of the Showgrounds, until we break for the Christmas/New Year Period, with Saturday 15th December being our last meeting of the year. We start up again on thursday 17th january 2019.

Keep an eye on Diary Dates for any closures.

Our Banner this month is a hand knitted Baby Shawl by Leon. The shawl was knitted in cotton, in the round with an intergral edging.

The Toowoomba Spinners, Weavers & Dyers Group was formed by a small number of women in 1977. A few people who had similar interests and wanted to meet on a regular basis started the club. A notice was placed in the local paper and the club started. Emma McLellan was the founder with a few other women. Lucy Frost and Joyce Baker (Foundation members) are still current members.

Membership in 2017 stands at around 60 and includes men and women from all age groups.

While spinning was the initial interest the organisation now also includes all fibre crafts, including weaving, felting, dyeing and much more.
